We are pleased to welcome the ensemble Concerto Scirocco, conducted byinternationally acclaimed bassoonist Giulia Genini of I Barocchisti, to ourseason. Their concert Sirene e Soldati (Sirens andSoldiers) will be presented for the first time in Ticino.
“Just as a skilled and talented painter imitates all things created innature by varying colours, so too is it possible to imitate the expression ofthe human voice on a wind or string instrument.” This evocative idea,articulated by Silvestro Ganassi in his 1535 treatise La Fontegara, serves as theartistic compass for Concerto Scirocco’s approach to 16th- and 17th-centuryinstrumental music. Their interpretative style seeks the highest degree ofexpressiveness, where rhetoric becomes the bridge between instrument and voice,imitation and reality.
In the absence of words,composers and instrumentalists turned to rhetorical devices to move and delight their audiences -just as singers did. This evening’s programme invites listenersinto a gallery of sonic portraits, rich in contrast and emotion, drawn from thevibrant repertoire of the early Baroque.
The Association I Barocchisti issues the tickets for concerts at the Auditorio Stelio Molo independently, without relying on any external providers. For this reason, it is not possible to choose a seat, and the tickets issued are not numbered. Discounts are available for certain categories of spectators, as well as agreements with some local institutions (Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana, SUPSI).
Tickets are issued upon receipt of payment and sent via email.
On the evening of the concert, simply present a copy of the received ticket, either in digital or printed form, to gain access to the hall.
