Coro della Radiotelevisione Svizzera

Il Coro della RSI

Great conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Michel Corboz, Ton Koopman, Gustav Leonhardt and Michael Radulescu, have praised the ensemble's musical qualities.

For over ten years, the Coro RSI has been dedicated to recording the complete works of Palestrina under the direction of Professor Francesco Luisi, the editor-in-chief of the new National Edition of Palestrina's works. The choir is now widely recognised as one of the foremost interpreters of Palestrina's music.

In 2018, the ensemble continued its exploration of Bach's cantatas with I Barocchisti, conducted by Diego Fasolis. Plans are in place for a comprehensive performance in southern Switzerland, building on the expertise of Luca Pianca, who initiated this project at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.

The Coro RSI regularly performs at major festivals and institutions, including the Salzburg Festival, the Innsbruck Early Music Festival, the Leipzig Bach Festival, the Flanders Festival, the Utrecht Early Music Festival, and the Versailles Festival.

Currently managed by the Associazione I Barocchisti, the Choir is developing intensive collaborations with I Barocchisti, the Conservatorio and the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana. As well as being an exceptional Renaissance and Baroque chamber choir, the Choir is also establishing itself in the field of staged opera. The Choir performs works from every style and era, while maintaining a focus on 'bel canto'.
